When your Dog is awarded a 'Challenge', this means that your Dog was the Best exhibit of the same sex of your Breed. ie. If you won Dog Challenge then your Dog was the best male Labrador�Retriever exhibited on the day.
When you win Challenge you are issued with a certificate stating that you won Challenge, at which Show, under which Judge, and how many points were awarded.
The more dogs you beat for Challenge the more points you are awarded
How To Gain Challenge Certificates
If your dog or bitch was awarded Dog Challenge or Bitch Challenge in breed, a Challenge Certificate is awarded to gain points towards your dog's Australian Championship.
Points are awarded in the following manner.
For each Challenge gained your dog receives
that was judged on the day from your breed,
excluding dogs in Baby Puppy
and including your own dog,
up to a maximum of 25 points.
Challenge certificates are available at the conclusion of Group Specials at the Show Secretary's office
Example:If you won Bitch Challenge and there were
2 bitches competing in Minor Puppy (2a) 0 in Puppy (3a) 3 bitches in Junior (4a) 1 in Intermediate (5a) 4 in Australian Bred (10a) and only your bitch in Open (11a)
You would receive 16 points on your Challenge Certificate
You will need to apply to your local Canine Association in the State or Territory in which you live - for your Championship and send along the appropriate paperwork and fees.
Contact your Association to find out what the exact fees and requirements are.
If there are any problems, you may be required to produce your Original Challenge Certificates, so keep them in a safe place, just to be sure.
There are titles for achievements in Obedience, Tracking, Agility, Endurance, Field Trials and many other activities.
